I led design for the FuelBand setup and Nike+ Connect experiences, directing development partners at R/GA (for product setup) and Jetstream (for Connect software development).

The Fuelband was a defining product in the wearables space, and while the device interface was intuitive, setup and configuration was confusing. Calls to Nike Consumer Services were eating away at the device’s profit margins, which were already razor thin at a company used to double digit margins on shoes.

I led a team of internal and external partners to redesign the Nike+ Connect experience, bringing clarity and intuitiveness to the experience to match the product experience. After the redesign calls to Nike Consumer Services regarding setup issues dropped by 16%..
